Do you ever find yourself saying…
“I’ll be happier when I lose 6 pounds.”
“I look so fat in this”
“My back fat is disgusting”
“I’m not good enough for him”
“Why can’t I look like her”
What if a friend or your boyfriend said any of those things to you.
I bet you would be really hurt and you probably wouldn’t want to be around them.
So why do you talk to yourself in such a negative way?
Our own voice, thoughts and feelings are really powerful and have more of an impact than you may think.
In order to make progress we need to turn this around. We need to start thinking that we are better and we do deserve more. In doing this we can become much more successful in so many aspects of our lives.
Negativity breeds negativity and you need to silence this inner negative voice.
How?
Start by pretending you are speaking to your best friend or your kids.
You would tell her that she rocks that outfit, she’s being silly and she looks great. You’d tell her that you love her big butt and they are fashionable just now. You might even look at her and have no idea why she was so hard on herself.
It hurts me so much when I hear people tear themselves apart. You are a beautiful and amazing person that deserves to be happy. Yet I can’t make the change – only you can. You are the only one holding yourself back from achieving amazing things.
It is hard though and not an overnight thing so like everything else, we start small. Instead of thinking of ALL the things we don’t like, we look for positives, however small they may be.
This really will start changing your thinking and outlook.
That’s why I ask you to tell me one thing you LOVE about your body in your check-ins. We all seem to struggle with this question though but again, what would you say or do if your best friend or little girl told you she didn’t love anything about herself?
Start believing that you are beautiful and unique. Even if it’s just your toes, nose or eyebrows. Each week we are to work on this until you feel the LOVE inside and out.
I know this all sounds very hippy but trust me, self-love comes from within and we need to practice it to get better at it!
So say thank you when someone compliments you this week <3 Maybe write it down to remind yourself on a low day <3
